Meet the Photographer
Emily Anderson
I believe in real moments and chasing sunsets. In the kinds of images that remind you of the joy that can be found in the simplest of moments together. I believe in images that are itching to be printed, placed in beautiful frames and hung on walls for years to come.
I began capturing images on film at the age of 22 when I discovered my dad's old Pentax in the attic. The limited amount of images on a roll of film forced me to put my camera phone down and really observe the beauty in the world, and the people around me.
Behind the Lens
I was born and raised in [hometown], and after marrying my husband [name], we settled in [current town], where I run my studio from a small room with very good light and far too many hard drives of weddings I can't stop looking back through.
Since then, I've photographed weddings for couples up and down the East Coast, from oceanfront estates in the Hamptons to family compounds in Nantucket to private weddings on the marshes of the Lowcountry.
My love for this work has taken me to chapels in [city], hillside vineyards in [city], and more than one backyard where the best moment of the night happened nowhere near the dance floor.
But no matter how far the work travels, the first quiet hour of a morning, before anyone is dressed and the light is still soft, will always be where the real work happens.

I believe in photographs you want to hold onto. In images that don't look like everyone else's, in the unguarded moment a guest doesn't know was caught, in a frame so honest you can almost hear the room.
02.
I began photographing weddings [X] years ago, after [origin moment, a camera handed down from a grandparent, a friend's wedding no one else was there to capture, a season assisting a photographer in [city].
03.
Whenever I pick up the camera for a new couple, I'm trying to do one thing well. To pay close enough attention that the photographs could only have been yours.
04.
Even with all the planning and travel and long days that go into a season of weddings, every single one still feels like a privilege to photograph. Your love story, your day, your people. I can't wait to make something for you.

It’s nice to meet you,
[ LOVE NOTES ]
“the easiest decision we made in our ENTIRE WEDDING”
From our first call, she understood exactly what we wanted
We wanted something timeless, a little romantic, and unmistakably us. Looking at the gallery felt like reliving the whole day, and we have our favorite frame hanging in the entryway a year later.
